Hockey was a big influence in his life where he achieved a lot of success playing at a very high level.
In 1988 Otto stepped into a wrestling ring for the first time, and since that day his focus has been all about this great sport. In the same year Otto began wrestling training and was trained by Stampede Wrestling Legend "Dr Hannible" Steve Gillespie, this sparked a friendship that lasted until Steve's untimely passing in 2019.

Otto and Steve Wilde developed a monthly magazine called Can-AM Live a youth enhancement program called "Constantly Against Narcotic and Alcohol Misuse" Otto and Steve were both keynote speakers for over 2000 workshops across Canada for First Nations Communities. This was very important to Otto after he himself became dependent on narcotics after a severe back injury. Otto fought this battle and is humbled and proud to be clean & sober for over 15 years.
